Dialogic Technology enables call routing over IP-based networks with handling of SMS and data messaging, helping to bring emergency services to market faster and with support for evolving industry standards
San Jose, CA - June 1, 2011- Dialogic Inc. (NASDAQ: DLGC), a leading provider of communications technologies that power advanced networks, today announced that microDATA selected Dialogic to support its Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) services. Through its use of Dialogic® technology, microDATA provides reliable call routing support for high volumes of calls and other forms of communication like SMS and data messaging, and will be able to roll out its NG9-1-1 services quickly while complying with ever-evolving industry standards.
microDATA also selected Dialogic's technology in order to poise itself to handle increased data and information sharing requirements for the future. Advancements in communication technologies have made some existing 9-1-1 systems outdated. Using Dialogic's technology, microDATA works with phone companies to update legacy networks to IP-based services as well as to enable 9-1-1 systems to receive packet-based voice data and field other forms of communication like SMS, data messaging and video conferencing.
"So many people rely on microDATA's 9-1-1 services, and Dialogic was the clear choice when it came to helping us manage high call volumes with superior video support, call quality, and advanced conferencing features," said Nathan Wilcox, Chief Technical Officer at microDATA. "Emergency services are continually evolving, and 9-1-1 services are no longer just through landlines and wireless calls. Dialogic's technology is helping bring in the next evolution of 9-1-1 services that include SMS and data messaging."
"It is very rewarding to know that Dialogic is helping to support such an important service," said Franz-Josef Eberle, Vice President and General Manager, Value Added Services and Cloud Enabling Group at Dialogic. "The emergency services landscape is quickly changing, and Dialogic's technology helps get microDATA's products to market as quickly and reliably as possible."
